Wet Hot American Summer is stupid. It always has been, it always will be.

Luckily, it works because it is, not really caring about the plot, about a group of friends attached by their time spent at a summer camp, but really just giving a large group of funny people the opportunity to be absurdly so in isolated scenes.

The initial movie was pretty great, and the subsequent TV series from Netflix First Day of Camp, while not as funny, was a nice time back with all the actors. The third installment, Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later sees the gang back 10 years after the first series. The only change really in the cast is Bradley Cooper doesn't reprise his role as Ben, his character got a nose job, and is now played by Adam Scott. Other than that, it is pretty much the same. H. Jon Benjamin is still playing a talking can of vegetables, and Chris Pine and Jason Schwartzman return despite being killed in the last series.

This season, which is set in the early 1990s, revolves around the plot of Ronald Reagan trying to blow up Camp Firewood with a nuclear warhead. Like I said, none of that really matters or makes sense (something it has fun with in the end), and the cast does squeeze as much funny as you can out of the episodes. I still think this works better in movie form, but it is a dumb way to pass the time.

Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later is now streaming on Netflix.

Rating: **1/2
