So many funny people, so few laughs.

Search Party sat on the shelf for two years, and it's not hard to see why after watching it. Despite having T.J. Miller, Adam Pally, Thomas Middleditch, Alison Brie, J.B. Smoove, Jason Mantzoukas and Jon Glazer, there is almost no laughs. It's been a day since I saw it, and I can honestly remember laughing twice, and neither were really all that big.

It is the story of a man on the verge of getting married, and the buddy that ruined his wedding by declaring that he had doubted wedding his fiancee (Shannon Woodward). That man getting married is Nardo (Thomas Middleditch), and his buddy is Jason (T.J. Miller). There is a third buddy as well who tries to mediate the two, Evan, played by Adam Pally (Dirty Grandpa).

Nardo goes to Mexico to try to make it work with his fiancee, but ends up asleep in the nude in some remote part of Mexico. He instantly calls Jason and Evan to come save him, but he has no idea where he is. The guys hit the road to come get him, and hijinks ensue, just not very funny ones. Just crude for the sake of being crude, and not really caring about being clever. And also a lot of full frontal Thomas Middleditch nudity.

It's a shame, I guess, but not really. All these people have done so much fine work in their careers, you can forget a dud. It just didn't work and you move onto something else they have done. Just maybe skip over this one.

Search Party is now streaming on HBO Go and HBO Now.
