Two years before The Sixth Sense, director Bryan Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie pulled a trick on its audience as well, when we found out just who exactly was Keyser Soze. For those few who still haven’t seen it, I will leave it to you, but for those who have seen it, they can’t forget it. It's still parodied in popular culture today, more than 20 years after it hit theaters.

The Usual Suspects follows the investigation of a boat explosion that left 91 people dead, including five criminals who were being questioned for a truck hijack six weeks earlier. The story is told through the interrogation of Verbal Kint, a crippled con man who might have information on who the elusive criminal mastermind Soze is. Some believe he is a myth, but with the startling last scene, everyone finds out who he is in a big way.

Kevin Spacey won his first Oscar for the role of Kint. The film also launched the career of Benicio Del Toro (Sicario).

The Usual Suspects is now streaming on Netflix.
