Comic Book Review: Superwoman #1 (DC)

superwoman 1 rebirth cover
Superwoman #1 - Written and Art by Phil Jimenez; Published by DC Comics.

By Kenny Howell

Lois Lane now has all the powers of Superman, and along with her buddy Lana Lang, she is protecting people of Metropolis as best she knows in this rebirth book.

Problem is, Lois' body isn't handling these new powers very well leading to nose bleeds, and other issues. How long is her body going to hold up to the new pressure, and is there anyway they can fix it?

But there is more pressing things outside of herself to worry about like saving Metropolis and sparring with new "Superman" Lex Luthor who has gone all Iron Man and created his own Superman suit to have some of the powers.

The first issue is quite good, but may be a bit overstuffed. Writer-Artist Phil Jimenez may rely a bit too much on dialogue instead of letting his art tell the story. That's not to say that the story isn't interesting, and really takes you in an interesting direction by the end. It's an interesting take on this universe, and gives you more female superheroes to follow from here on out.

Rating 7 out of 10.
