New Comic Book Day: DC, Aug. 10

By Kenny Howell

The rebirth for DC has been stronger than expected, probably better overall than the New 52. Though I don't think there has been anything as good as Batman, or maybe even Justice League, there are a lot more good titles. Everything is pretty good all-around, which couldn't be said about the New 52.

Probably tops on the list is Detective Comics, which luckily went back to the original numbering (same as Action Comics), returning this week with #938. Batman, Batwoman and their team continue the fight against the army engineered to stop Batman.

Also having a good run is Wonder Woman, which returns with #4 with the alternating story line. Action Comics, The Flash, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps and New Super-Man all return as well.

New #1s this week are All-Star Batman, Deathstroke, Red Hood and the Outlaws and Superwoman. All-Star Batman has the most promise because Scott Snyder is returning to the helm. He handled the excellent New 52 Batman, and I don't think the Batman Rebirth has been anywhere as good as that.

The complete release list is listed below.

All-Star Batman #1
Deathstroke: Rebirth #1
Red Hood and the Outlaws #1
Superwoman #1

The Flash #4
