This movie starts with the decapitation of a giraffe.

For laughs.

For real.

This is supposed to be funny.

A giraffe getting its head chopped off is funny.

It is not surprising considering the rest of the movies in this series. I have never felt more a part of a Twilight Zone episode than when the first The Hangover came out. I kept hearing how funny it was. It had Zach Galifiankis and many other people that were funny or talented. Then I watched it. I may have smirked twice. It literally had no laughs, but the thing made tons of money, and even ended up winning the Golden Globe for Best Comedy. I realize comedy is very subjective, but I just don't get it. But everyone around me loved it. So alone. So scared.

The final installment sees the wolf pack (gag) trying to track down Leslie Chow, played by Ken Jeong (Rapture-Palooza). He has stole some money from a fellow criminal, Marshall (Goodman, Inside Llewyn Davis). Since Alan (Galifiankis) has been in touch with Chow, Marshall holds Doug (Bartha) hostage because he really isn't one of the main guys that got screen time in the first film. Things go crazy because these guys are so crazy, and Alan pronounces things wrong. Also, a rooster is murdered for laughs. And dogs.

This is the bottom of the bucket for the franchise, a bucket which was more of a shallow soup bowl to start out. Thankfully, it is finally over.

The Hangover Part III is also available on Redbox, iTunes and Amazon.

Rating: 1/2 a star
