Lots of funny people, but not an impressive number of laughs in this comedy about the rapture.

Part of it may be because I have already seen This is the End, the far superior rapture comedy, which also happens to star Craig Robinson. Rapture-Palooza probably has a bit more edge to it that I won't really go into because of a few things that happen at the end, but This is the End works a lot better.

In this one, the rapture happens, and the Antichrist takes over the world. He is played by an overgrown man-child played by Robinson. Couple Lindsey and Ben didn't get raptured, and they go about their days of zombies, falling rocks and cursing crows with a sort of ho hum attitude. Ben's dad works for the Antichrist, and Lindsey and Ben go with him to the Antichrist's mansion. He takes a liking to Lindsey and tells her she has to decide to marry him within eight days, or he will murder her, and all her friends and family. Hilarious.

All that being said, there are a lot of funny people in the movie, and the laughs that do come are the little things they pull out of it. A line here and a line there make this one a worthwhile watch, but just barely.

Rapture-Palooza is also available on iTunes, Amazon Instant and Redbox.
