Now on Amazon Prime: Arbitrage (2012)

Arbitrage (2012) - Written and Directed by Nicholas Jarecki; Starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth, Brit Marling, Laetitia Costa.

By Kenny Howell

The idea of the adult drama has gone away in the past several years. So it's nice when a movie that comes along that doesn't treat its audience as stupid, doesn't have to put guns or explosions in it to be effective, and just relies on its drama to carry the story.

Richard Gere plays Robert Miller, a successful hedge fund manager that has everything implode on him at once. To be fair, it's his fault. He has been involved in fraud, as well as an affair. When something happens that I will leave to the movie, everything unravels pretty quickly.

The strength of the movie has to be how everything plays out. I can't really get into it without giving stuff away, so I will just leave it to that there are no good or evil people in the movie. Everyone, except maybe for one, has a good or bad side that plays into how the story unfolds.

Arbitrage is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
